hi, jonathan here. my idea of this event is to provide a time+space for slowing down, being a bit more still, and sharing silent/quiet time in a relaxed collective kind of way.
my personal experience is that having this kind of time allows me to hear/digest some of the noise in my head and maybe let it settle. and i find pleasure in the calm and heightened sensitivity that often comes from being quiet.
also, being quiet with others is something i enjoy and it helps me actually take the time…
the idea is to have 30 mins of silence inside this hour, in a way that allows everyone participating to be silent in a form of their own choosing. i imagine that i personally will like to use the time to meditate for 30 minutes, and relax and chill out in the space a bit afterward, transitioning back to quiet-but-not-necessarily-silent mode. there will be no guided meditation, but others might want to meditate as well, in whatever form they like, or perhaps just read, rest, sleep, etc.
time and space to chill, read, write, nap, chat, hang out, be quiet.
and there is tea.
